Planning ahead can really help and reduce stress during an emergency. Here is a partial list of items that you should keep with you in your car in case of an emergency. - Spare tire (be sure to have it checked each time you have your tires rotated)

- Tool box with screwdrivers and wrenches
- Blanket
- Small hammer
- Flares
- Fuses
- Your vehicles owners manual
- Snacks that do not spoil
- Tire Sealant for small leaks in tires
- Duct tape
- Fire extinguisher
- Bottled water – make sure to refresh this item frequently
- Extra Oil in a Secure Container
- Reflective vest or other form of safety vest to increase visibility
- Emergency phone numbers of family and friends
- Insurance Contact Information – including your ID card and roadside assistance
- Car registration
- Flash light with extra batteries or that can be powered manually, such as b winding
- Empty gas can
- First aid kit
- Jumper cables
- Tire pressure gauge
- Pen or pencil and paper — you cannot always depend on your electronic device
- Wipes or pre-moistened towelettes
- Scraper to remove ice from a window
- Cell phone
